A mass social work was carried out across Kohima district on Saturday with active participation from the district administration, Police, district offices, Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), and the public.
A DIPR report informed that the initiative covered various road stretches in Kohima, with departments divided into groups for better coordination. The drive was supervised by Kohima DPDB chairman and Kevipodi Sophie, deputy commissioner B. Henok Buchem, and SP Kohima Teisovise Metha, who visited multiple locations and encouraged participants.
KCCI led the effort among business owners and shopkeepers, who cleaned the premises around their establishments in the main town area. Residents of different wards and colonies also joined in, clearing garbage and cleaning public spaces.
Cleanliness drive at Jakhama: In compliance with the directive issued by the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for a mass social work initiative, the office of the Jakhama Sub-Division conducted a cleanliness drive on June 21. During the drive, government offices and members of the public actively participated in cleaning office compounds, educational institutions, highways, public footpaths and drainage systems across various locations.
