Offering one week’s time to the department of School Education to appoint the mathematics teachers for Diphupar government high school (GHS), the Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) on Tuesday cautioned that failure on the part of the department would compel it to impose “blanket bandh” along NH-29 from Airport Road junction to Central Jail junction starting March 30, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The union has appealed to the public to understand its position and extend support and cooperation.
It also cautioned that the education department would be held responsible for any eventuality during the bandh.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, DNSU president Sakulemba Jamir said that even after much deliberation and appeals, the department of school education has failed to appoint two mathematics teachers.
He further said that department has also failed fulfil its notice to DNSU during the protest rally on March 8 last. In the notice the department stated that a graduate teacher (Maths) from government higher secondary school (GHSS) Dimapur would be deputed on temporary measures until such time a regular graduate teacher (maths) was provided.
With regard to this, DNSU said the deputy director education officer (DDEO) Dimapur, Amongla Jamir, has maintained that she has done everything on her part and it was now up to the higher authority to take up the measures.
Meanwhile, the union has expressed dismay that the department instead of appointing two maths teachers has deployed two teachers of other subjects, which were in excess.
