Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) at its monthly executive council meeting on December 9 has resolved that traders and business owners in the town and district would not “register” with any group/s other than statutory bodies established by law. In a press release, MCCI president Moasangba Jamir and information secretary Limalenden Longkumer said this decision was taken after it was brought to the notice of MCCI office that certain group/s were issuing unconfirmed notices to traders and business owners to “register” with their group/s. Further, MCCI has directed all shops and business owners to decorate their shops and establishments by December 11 on account of the festive season as well as the 125 years celebration of Mokokchung town. MCCI said its action committee would inspect the town on December 11 evening and defaulters, would be penalized.
