MCD cautions against sheltering Assam evictees

DIMAPUR, JUL 26 (NPN)

Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) has stated that in light of the ongoing eviction of people from government land in Assam and the consequent spillover concerns, it has issued a general advisory to members of the Muslim community residing in Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima districts.
MCD working president Ahidur Rahman said the council has observed attempts by some evicted individuals to enter various areas across the three districts. MCD said that the issue was not only a matter of concern for the state government and local people but also the Muslim community and called upon all to be careful and ensure that peace and brotherhood is not affected.
MCD has urged all responsible Muslims across Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious individuals or new movements observed in colonies, villages, or places of worship to the concerned GBs or law enforcement agencies.
The council also warned that if any member of the Muslim community is found sheltering or accommodating evicted individuals from Assam, they would be liable for legal action and face expulsion from the community.
The advisory was circulated to all MCD members, Masjid committees, and Muslim community and youth in the three districts for strict compliance.
