MCD expels one over controversial viral video

Muslin Council Dimapur (MCD) along with its subsidiary Churnokedima Town Muslim Union (CTMU) have decided to expel one Kamal Uddin, a Youtuber, who allegedly made a “controversial video”, which had gone viral since September 6, 2024.


In a press release, MCD working president Ahidur Rahman stated that the views expressed in the video was “improper”, which had hurt the sentiments of many and could affect the harmony prevailing in the peaceful society.


MCD said the individual had issued an apology, but much damage had already done and he has left Nagaland. MCD said that Kamal Uddin, a tailor by profession and a temporary resident of ward no-10, Chumokedima and a permanent resident of Dhanbanda village under Barpeta in Assam, had been expelled from the Muslim Community of Nagaland with immediate effect. MCD has requested the house owners not to give him rented rooms if he tried to come back to Nagaland.


Meanwhile, MCD has also expressed concern over the arrest of Dhing gang rape case accused from Nagaland on September 6, 2024.


The council has informed all the community members to remain vigilant and on coming across any suspected person, they be immediately handed over to the police, chairman or GB of colony.
