MCJC reacts to PAPO statement

Mimi Circle Joint Council (MCJC) has expressed outrage over Phokhungri Area Public Organization (PAPO)’s press statement, which it claimed displayed “open support” to Laruri and Sutsu Villages in the land dispute.

In a press release, MCJC president M. Throngmuli stated that for an external entity like PAPO to step in and “openly favor” one party would only escalate the issue.

The joint council stated that PAPO by aligning openly with Laruri and Sutsu villages has not only undermined the principles of neutrality and respect for all parties, but has also disrupted the chance for a balanced and peaceful resolution.

To avoid further escalation, MCJC has appealed to PAPO to not interfere in their traditional land dispute issue and withdraw from any involvement in the dispute.
