State Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for conduct of Lok Sabha by-election, 2018 has been constituted as follows: i) Chairman, Abhijit Sinha, Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland; ii) Member — One Observer appointed by the ECI; iii) Member, Limawati Ao; iv) Member, Shahu Patole; v) Member, Xavier Rutsa; vi) Member Secretary, Khegukha Sema.a
According to a DIPR report, the state level MCMC shall perform two sets of functions: i) Deciding appeal from both District and Add I. CEO Committees on Certification of advertisement; ii) Examining all cases of paid news on appeal against the decision of District MCMC or cases that they may take up suomotu, in which case it shall direct the concerned ROs to issue notices to the candidates.
