MDFA trophy enters knockout stages

DIMAPUR, OCT 18 (NPN)

The ongoing MDFA Trophy 2025 will now enter into the knockout stages from Monday with the last league matches being played here today at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex. The last three league matches were played on Saturday wherein the first match was played between Sports Society Soyim Vs Team Gilgal where Team Gilgal won the match 2-1.
In the second match, Super Seniors FC won the match 2-0 against Intermingle Club. In the third and last match, Doyang Strikers Mokokchung beat NU Lumami 3-1. Striking the first salvo, it was NU Lumami who drew first blood as early as 6th minute of the game when Neilei jersey no 14 found the net after his shot got deflected in the post.
However, the equalizer from Doyang Strikers Mkg came soon in the 11th minute when Yami jersey no 11 swiftly shot the ball to find the net.
It was Yami again in the 15th minute that helped score the second goal for his team leading the score board 2-1.
After dominating most of the game, Doyang Strikers Mkg sealed the fate of the game when G Shong jersey no 7 booted the ball in the 34th minute. Though the players from NU Lumami tried level best to turn game but to no avail as they failed to prove their mettle on the ground and thus conceding the game. The game also saw the booking of a player from NU Lumami for unsporting behavior.
As the game enters the knockout stages, the 1st quarter final match will be played between Team Gilgal versus Super Seniors FC from 12:00 noon. The second quarter final match will be played between Doyang Strikers Mkg versus Sangpang Reju SC from 2:00pm.
