
Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA), visited two Legal Literacy Schools to give legal awareness to students. The team were divided into two groups.
A press release from District Project Assistant, MDLSA, Mapujungla Pongen, stated that the team led by secretary, WV Patton, along with PL, Sentinaro and PLV, Wabangtoshi, visited Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, where Patton spoke on functions of legal services, Sentinaro spoke on NALSA, Child Friendly Legal Services to children and their protection scheme 2019, and Wabangtoshi on the topic, “Cyber Crime and Child Abuse”.
An interaction with the principal and teacher in charge was carried on after the programme.
The second team was led by District Project Assistant, Mapujungla Pongen, with PLVs Molusen and Bendangsenla, who visited Imsutemjen Higher Secondary School.
Mapujungla Pongen delivered the key note address, while topic on Consumer Protection Act was taken up by Bendangsenla and legal services and public utility services by Molusen Imchen. A brief discussion with administrator, principal and teacher in charge was also carried out.
It was learnt that the school needed more legal awareness programme and suggested to conduct a legal awareness seminar. A total of 700 students along with school authority and teachers participated in the seminar, the release stated.
