DC Mon Thavaselean K has informed that District Task Force (DTF) and empowered committee Mon initiated measures to enhance the immunity of returnees in quarantine centres which has been declared as containment zones.
A press information from DC office Mon stated that, returnees have been provided with immunity boosting multivitamin with zinc capsules along with calcium and vitamin D3 tablets. Returnees will be segregated into smaller groups and housed in different quarantine centres subject to availability of empty quarantine centres. The returnees will be tested for COVID-19 using rapid antigen kits and results will be available within a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
It was also informed that the following algorithm as communicated by the ICMR would be followed while declaring the result. Result tested positive will be reported as true positive while result tested negative and the person is asymptomatic, the result will be declared negative.
Further, if the test result was negative and the person was symptomatic and has fever/cough/ sore throat, the samples will he sent to ICMR, Dibrugarh BSL-3 Lab, Kohima BSL-2 Lab and Dimapur for retesting by RT-PCR.
