Medical camp & health awareness seminar at 8th NAP Naltoqa

A medical camp and health awareness seminar were jointly organised by NARTO Family Welfare, 8th NAP Battalion Naltoqa, Commandant 8th NAP Battalion Naltoqa, Yangba Konyak, IPS, and District Programme Officer (DPO)-CD II Zunheboto, Dr. H. Mlato Shikhu, on Saturday at the Drill Shed, 8th NAP Battalion Naltoqa, Zunheboto.


The event aimed to reduce stigma around HIV & AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), and Leprosy, promote healthy living, educate the local community about these diseases, and provide essential health services.


During the seminar, participants learned about the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), and National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) from experts. vPMDT supervisor, Akavi Yeptho, DPO of District AIDS Prevention Control Unit (DAPCU), Hokishe Chophy, and PMW worker, Hokugha K Sema respectively.


A medical team led by Dr. Sukhayi, Dr. Gihuka and Dr. Tokaito, Medical Officers (MOs) of Akuluto, Atoizu and Kilomi respectively; Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Atoizu,Dr. Samuel; and Dr. Mughalu of ART Zunheboto, provided medical services to around 200 patients from Naltoqa and neighboring villages namely Aichisaghemi, Lochumi, Asukhomi and Yezami.

The seminar was chaired by DPO of DAPCU, Hokishe Chophy, with invocation by Pastor Rev. Khevihe Yeptho, Police Baptist Church (PBC) Naltoqa, welcome address by Deputy Commandant 2 IC 8th NAP, Limatemsu Longkumer, vote of thanks by Deputy Commandant (Adjutant) 8th NAP, T Ado Yanlem, and benediction by EAC Atoizu, Dr. Samuel. The seminar was followed by a medical camp, providing a comprehensive approach to health awareness and treatment.
