Medical department Mon aims full coverage of Measles Rubella

Medical department Mon has plans to cover 2238 more children during Measles Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign so as to achieve full coverage.

In a press release NHM, Mon has informed that so far 96.4% of children under nine months to 15 years of age have been vaccinated despite “massive rumours” against the vaccination and criticism faced by the team.

The release stated that the campaign has received support from the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mon, K. Thavaseelan, who is also the chairman of District Health Society, Mon.

Out of 58397, NHM has informed that 56159 children have been vaccinated as on October 29. 

The release informed that the combine MR team which includes the district health society, district administration, social welfare, education department and the village leaders still hope to attempt full coverage.
