CHÜMOUKEDIMA, JUL 30 (NPN): Medziphema United FC registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory over School of Football in Match 6 of the 2nd Edition of the CDFA League-cum-Rokonicha Champions Trophy 2026, played on Day Five at Chümoukedima Football Stadium, Thursday.
Medziphema United FC took the lead in the 23rd minute through jersey No. 2, Kikruneilie, who found the back of the net to give his side a 1-0 advantage before halftime.
The lead was doubled in the 66th minute when Visalie (jersey No. 23) scored Medziphema United FC’s second goal, putting his team firmly in control of the contest.
School of Football fought back and reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute through Yashimeren (jersey No. 7), but despite their efforts, they were unable to find an equaliser as Medziphema United FC held on to secure all three points.
The match also saw two players cautioned for unsporting behaviour. Medziphema United FC’s jersey No. 8 and School of Football’s jersey No. 4 were shown yellow cards by the referee.
For his influential performance and opening goal, Kikruneilie (jersey No. 2) of Medziphema United FC was adjudged the Player of the Match.
The Match Patron for the day was Er. Rishav Sethi, CEO of NITI Group.
The tournament will continue on July 31 at 3:30 pm with Piphema United FC taking on Medziphema Football Academy at Chümoukedima Football Stadium (CFS).
