Meeting arena inauguratedat Yaongyimchen village

DIMAPUR

Yaongyimchen Mongti-Amlung (Meeting Arena) was inaugurated at Yaongyimchen village, Longleng district, by DPDB Longleng chairman, A. Ponshi Phom, MLA on July 8.
According to DIPR report, director of DUDA, Dr. T. Wati Aier, and deputy commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, also attended the inauguration programme.
Speaking at the function, Ponshi Phom appreciated the sincerity of the village elders and land donors, saying their dedication made it possible to complete the arena beyond the estimated cost. He emphasised that honest leadership is key to community development.
Dr. T. Wati Aier, in his speech, highlighted various initiatives under DUDA and credited the MLA for his role in bringing the project through the Under Developed Areas Programme (UDAP). He also urged villagers to conserve wildlife and biodiversity to promote tourism in the region.
DC Manpai Phom congratulated the village leaders and citizens and encouraged them to preserve the cultural and traditional value of the Mongti-Amlung. He said such meeting spaces have helped past generations take important decisions during hard times.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation and dedicatory prayer by Pastor P. Nganlang of Yaongyimchen Baptist Church. It was chaired by Nyukphen Phom, and a welcome address was delivered by head barick, A. Longkang. Convenor of the construction committee, Dr. Imnameren Phom, spoke words of gratitude.
A special song was presented by Yimchensenla.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from S. Langnok Phom, president of Yaongyimchen citizens, and a benediction by pastor M. Shapen Phom of Alayung Baptist Church, Attoi.
