District level meeting cum refresher training on National Electoral Rolls Purification (NERP) for all AEROs, supervisors, VRECs assistant and newly appointed BLOs were held on June 24 at Deputy Commissioner (DC)’s conference hall Mon town.
DC and DEO Mon, W. Honje Konyak stressed on the sincerity of all officials and the need to gear up from AERO level down to BLO and also presented the performance report on NERP of each A/Cs and pointed out the areas for improvement.
Further, he asserted the need to improve door to door activities of BLOs for possible duplicate, possible errors and also verification list of absent, shifted and dead electors.
The DC reminded the AEROs and supervisors to relook Electoral Population (EP) ratio of their respective A/Cs and supervise their subordinate officers’ accordingly. Besides this, important topic like non-local issues, test check of electoral roll and various directives of Election Commission of India was discussed.
He stated that, every day district office was receiving new instructions from the commission, and asked all officials to be alert and execute all directives on time.
ADC and ERO Mon M.A. Shihab presented the overall aims and objectives of NERP-2016. He requested all to brush up their memories and to be focused on the goal of NERP so as to achieve desired target. AEO Mon, Aketo Shohe gave brief presentation on VRECs and demonstrated on how to fill the forms correctly.
Experiencing the benefit of the meeting/training, it was decided to carry out same “meeting cum refresher training” in all the nine A/Cs of Mon district.
