Meeting of NPF ticket seekers for Wokha, Bhandari town councils held

NPF Wokha division organized an introductory meeting with the NPF intending candidates of Wokha and Bhandari Town council on December 29, at the residence of home minister, Y. Patton at Wokha.
Altogether twenty candidates– twelve for Wokha Town council and eight for Bhandari Town council attended the meeting. A press note issued by Home minister’s PS stated that Y. Patton while addressing the candidates, informed them that since there were many NPF ticket seekers, the recommendations were made after thorough screening and scrutiny, by taking into account the sincerity and loyalty of the applicants. He further disclosed that some party loyalists, seeking the tickets, were denied “with mutual understanding”.
In this regard he urged upon the intending candidates to work hard in order to ensure victory for the party. Patton also reminded the candidates that they should not only seek party tickets during such a situation but to remain loyal to the party even after the elections, saying the Town council elections would be the semi final for the 2018 Assembly election.
Earlier, NPF central general secretary (I/c Wokha) and member secretary of the selection committee, Renbomo Kikon also exhorted the gathering. He cautioned the NPF candidates from Wokha and Bhandari Town councils deviating from the party’s constitution would be disciplined as per the provision of the party’s constitution even before or after election. Later, all the intending candidates were made to sign a pledge, committing themselves to remain loyal to NPF party. Others who attended the meeting include CEC members and central office bearers of Wokha district.
