Meeting on law and order held in Wokha

A coordination-cum-consultative meeting was held in connection with law and order in Wokha district and other related issues at DC’s office chamber, Wokha Wednesday.
Convened by DC Wokha A. Robin Lotha, the coordination-cum-consultative meeting was attended by district administration officials led by DC Wokha, district police force led by SP Wokha T. Chumrenthung Lotha, Lotha frontal organizations including the Lotha Hoho, Kyong Eloe Hoho, Lotha Youth Hoho and Kyong Students’ Union, and representatives of all the 28 Wokha town colonies.
DC Wokha A. Robin Lotha, while appreciating the gathering for extending full cooperation to the district administration and police in maintaining law and order, sought help in creating awareness among the people to be more vigilant and to report movement of any suspicious persons or abandoned things to the police.
DC Wokha also directed the colony representatives to submit a survey report of ILP Card holders in their respective colonies on or before May 20, 2015, which he said was for the welfare of the citizens, both locals and non-locals.
On consumer rights issues, DC Wokha urged all citizens to acquaint themselves with their rights as consumers, and to desist and discourage people from buying essential commodities above MRPs.
While informing the gathering of the state government’s approval for naming of 20 roads in and around Wokha town, DC Wokha sought cooperation from all colony representatives in carrying out any future works on this matter.
Also, speaking at the meeting, SP Wokha T. Chumrenthung Lotha urged the gathering to be more innovative and to play pro-active roles in transforming society. 
Expressing regrets that the district police force was facing acute shortage of manpower, SP Wokha sought continued support from the gathering and public to bridge the gap.
SP Wokha also informed the gathering that the district police force would soon be setting up a 24-hour public grievances cell to monitor and help improve law and order in the district.
Others who addressed the coordination-cum-consultative meeting included Lotha Hoho general secretary Er. Mhondamo Ovung and Kyong Students’ Union president Amos Odyuo.
