A consultation meeting was held on August 22 at Tanhai village in regard to May 5 incident wherein W. Taiching vice chairman Wakching town was physical assaulted by the four NSCN (IM). In the press release issued by president Wakching area Tenang yenghoi public, Konpa stated that the meeting was attended by Wakching area Tenang Yenghoi public comprising of more than 30 villages and representatives of NSCN (IM). The meeting resolved to compromise the incident on mutual understanding. Konpa Konyak urged the public and the NSCN (IM) representatives to co-operate and seek for peace and understanding in the days to come. He further said the public would continue to condemn such incidents where inhuman acts are carried out against the public.
