Meetings chalk out programmes for ensuing I-Day

Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on August 6 at DPDB Hall Longleng under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Longleng, M. Shayung Phom. 

According to a DIPR report, the house deliberated on distribution of works for the upcoming Independence Day celebration.

It also discussed constitution of a committee to facilitate for district awards.

Meanwhile, DAO Longleng, Yongchang Phom delivered a presentation on the activities implemented by agricultural department under Longleng district. 

The house decided that a mass social work will be held on 9th August 2021, where all villages under Longleng District will participate.

Wokha: In view of the forthcoming 75th Independence Day, a coordination meeting of the Head of Offices (HODs) was held on August 5 at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Wokha.

According to a DIRP report, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of the DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha.

The meeting discussed work distribution to be carried out by various departments under the district.

DC informed all the officers that a copy of the work distribution would be given to all the HODs very shortly and requested them to implement their assigned responsibilities with sincerity.

The meeting also decided to conduct mass social work on August 13 in all the colonies/wards and government offices in the district, which the DC requested the general public and government employees to compulsorily and actively take part.

SDO (C), Wokha, Chonpenthung Ezung also informed during the meeting that the district task force would carry out COVID-19 vaccination drive and random rapid antigen test from August 7 in all the colonies of Wokha town and appealed not only the public but also the government employees who have not tested and have not taken the COVID vaccine yet to avail the opportunity.

Aboi: Additional deputy commissioner Aboi, Chumlamo Humtsoe convened a meeting of all the HoDs under ADC office, Aboi on August 6 in the conference hall of ADC Aboi.

During the meeting, the house chalked out the programme for the ensuing Independence Day celebration and work distribution was assigned to various departments.

Humtsoe also directed HoDs on instructing the staff to attend the programme. 

Marking the celebration of 75th Independence Day celebration, the house discussed that a cleanliness drive would be organized on August 13 at Aboi.

Kiphire: Kiphire district planning and development committee had a meeting on the August 5, in the conference hall of the DC Kiphire. 

Addressing the members from the chair, DC T. Wati Aier laid down the agenda for the upcoming Independence Day and work distribution was also discussed.

During the meeting it was decided that every person who is fully vaccinated or have availed the first dose of Covid vaccine should participate in the programme.

It also decided that “free medical check-up” for public in the town for six days August 9-14 would be conducted. The house decided to organise essay writing/ painting / speech competition for students at ZPC Complex, Kiphire. 

The members also decided to have mass social work on August 14 in the town.

New member of the board, DFO Kiphire, Chisayi was introduced during the meeting and was given in-charge for tree plantation.

DC Wati Aier informed government servants to attend the programme adhering to appropriate SOPs.

Peren: The monthly Peren DPDB meeting for the month of August was held under the chairmanship of DC Peren and vice chairman DPDB Peren, Sentiwapang Aier at Town Hall Peren on August 6.

During the meeting, work distribution pertaining to the forthcoming Independence Day Celebration was also held and after taking views and suggestions from the members, the board decided to conduct a mass social work on August 12 at the district headquarter. 

The board members deliberated on the various agenda which included: approval of LADP 2021-2022 for 7 A/C Peren; construction of district soil office staff quarter at Peren Hq.; backward provision for Rongmei Community under NEC and preparation for Independence Day Celebration.

On backward provision for Rongmei Community under NEC, Rongmei Baptist Association Nagaland (RBAN) Development Secretary, Akeina Gonmei apprised the members about the project. Mentioning that RBAN, implementing partner society along with Social Welfare Initiative for Fundamental Transformation (SWIFT) as sister agency of implementing partner society, it has already submitted a proposal with two components under the proposal titled, Economic Upliftment of Rongmei Tribe in Peren district, Nagaland to deputy commissioner, Peren which was later approved by the members present and further decided to forward the same to the planning & coordination and NEC for further perusal of the project.
