In view of the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) – Home Department call for a state wide mega mock drill of Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) on April 26, meetings have been organised by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA)/district administration across the state to prepare for the same.
According to DIPR report, in Dimapur, DDMA Dimapur held an emergency meeting on April 23 at the conference hall of DC Dimapur.
The meeting chaired by ADC Dimapur, Sara Jamir discussed on issues relating to staging of areas, relief camps, ambulance services, traffic, medical team, law and order, EOC, communication, transportation and other areas of concern while conducting the NEPEx exercise, stated the report.
The mock drill exercise would be conducted in different sites including St. Mary’s Montessori school, hill star cinema hall, City centre shopping mall and Notun Basti. DEO, Police, DMC and administrative officers have been asked to coordinate with Home guards for successful conduct of the mock drills in these locations.
LONGLENG: A review meeting of the Longleng District Disaster Management Authority was held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Longleng under the chairmanship of the DC Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam.
According to DIPR report, the DC while welcoming the members present, highlighted about the mega mock exercise. He urged all the government officials to be serious and sincere with their respective activities to ensure that Mock drill exercise itself should not become a disaster. John further appealed to the members to be aware about the monsoon related disasters that may occur in the district, and for which he urged the concern officers for timely report verification of disasters that may occur in the district and also timely submission of application of the victims to avail relief.
After a lengthy discussion it was decided to perform the mega mock exercise in four locations, and requirement of manpower and inventory was framed for the exercise despite of shortage in manpower and machineries.
The final briefing of the mega mock drill exercise has been convened on April 25 at the conference hall of DC Longleng for which all the heads of offices have been asked to attend the meeting.
ZUNHEBOTO: In view of NEPEx, ADC Zunheboto has directed all the members of the Zunheboto District Disaster Management Authority (ZDDMA) to participate in the table top exercise to be held on April 25, 11 a.m. at the ADC Chamber followed by mock exercise on April 26.
