A mega oilpalm plantation drive for 2025–26 was organised by District Agriculture Office, Wokha, on July 23 at APMC, Wokha Village.
Delivering the keynote address, DAO Wokha L. Sunep Pongener said the department is committed to helping farmers throughout the plantation process and is working as a bridge between the company and the farmers.
Muthuselvan, Manager (Market Development), Godrej Agrovet Ltd. (GAVL), spoke about the company’s work in agriculture and assured that a mini processing mill will be set up in the state.
Dr. Benjongtoshi Imchen, senior officer, GAVL, highlighted the company’s support for oilpalm plantation and said they are supplying quality saplings to farmers. He also shared technical knowledge and advised farmers to manage their plants properly during the early years for good yields. Agriculture officer Lideno T. Kithan chaired the programme, and P. Yanrenthung Patton (AFA) delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the dispatch of 1800 oilpalm saplings to 26 farmers.
