Merangkong Laishir Telungjem holds 16th annual conference

DIMAPUR: Merangkong Laishir Telungjem held its 16th annual conference from May 22–24, 2026 at Merangkong Baptist Church under the theme “Reviving the Authentic Faith in a Nominal World” (Revelation 3:1–3).
The inaugural programme featured participation from Merangkong Medmsanger Putu, Merangkongtsür Telungjem, Merangkong Kaketshir Telungjem, the Deacon Board and Deaconess of Merangkong Baptist Church. Marsanen Imsong, president of Ao Senden, graced the occasion as special guest. In his address, he urged the gathering to be men and women of integrity, recalling the vision of the first Ao Naga convert, late Longjanglepzuk, whose brief but dedicated life continues to inspire generations. He encouraged villagers to strengthen bonds of mutual support and unity of purpose.
The programme included panel talks on pressing issues facing the church today on the topics “Ministry Beyond the Church” and “The Double-Edged Sword of Social Media in Church Attendance”. The speakers were Akangtemsu, Youth Director, Mokokchung Town Baptist Church and Dr. Bendangmenla, Assistant Professor at Clark Theological College (CTC).
On May 23, participants were divided into groups for outreach visits to Merangkong Town Baptist Church, Merangkong School Compound Baptist Church and Merangkong Baptist Church.
A home visitation programme was also conducted, fostering deeper fellowship and pastoral care. Altogether, 72 members attended the conference, actively engaging in worship, discussions and outreach activities.
Meanwhile, Merangkong Laishir Telungjem expressed gratitude to Merangkong Baptist Church for hosting the conference and providing accommodation facilities, which contributed to the success of the gathering. The conference concluded with prayers of thanksgiving, seeking God’s blessing for continued fellowship and unity in faith.
