As part of nationwide campaign, “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign kicked off across the state on August 9.
Meri Maati Mera Desh is a 21-day campaign to pay tribute to the brave people who sacrificed their life for the country. The 21-day campaign will begin on August 9 and will continue till August 30.
Mon
The launching programme in Mon was organised by Mon Town Council where DC Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma unfurled the National Flag and unveiled a memorial plaque. The DC also led in planting of 75 tree saplings.
On the occasion, a felicitation of veers and one minute silence for those veers who have sacrificed their lives for the country was also observed.
Overview of the campaign was highlighted by ADC Mon and short speech was delivered by Konyak Union president. The citizen also took a pledge to make India a developed nation.
NCC of Wangkhao Government College, Mon also observed the launching programme in the college with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. T. Chandrasekharan, principal of the college, followed by National Anthem recitation. The pledge of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” was administered by Doklong M Phom, NCC Caretaker Officer.
The campaign marked culmination of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ involving paying tributes to those who made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
Wokha

The launching programme of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” was held at DC office premises Wokha on August 9.
Launching the campaign, DC, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan said that the campaign has been observed to honour the martyred, brave hearts of the county.
He also informed that under the programme various activities like collection of soil from all the block headquarters will be done, and reading of pledges, recitation of National Anthem and planting of trees saplings will also be carried out throughout the district starting from August 9 till August 15. ADC, Wokha, K. Furhesie Nyuwi led the gathering in administering the pledge. Later, DC and other head of offices in the district participated in planting of trees saplings at the DC Office premises.
CHOZUBA SUB-DIVISION

The administration under Chozuba Sub Division organised a programme to kick off “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign led by ADC, Imokokla at Vamuzo Memorial in Chozuba Town.
The launching programme was attainted by government officials from different departments, educational institutions both government and private with students and teachers. Advisory committee of Chozuba Town Council, NGOs and business establishment joined the nation-wide event.
DC Kohima informs: In connection with “ Meri Maati Mera Desh” and “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C has informed all Heads of Offices (HoOs), NGOs and other parties under Kohima district to collect the National Flag from the Development Branch, Office of the Deputy Commissioner Kohima on August 11 and 12 from 11 am onwards.
