Directorate of School Education (DoSE) organised the Nagaland Government School Students Meritorious Award, an event to felicitate the meritorious students from Govt schools at Morung Conference Hall, DoSE here on August 30.
The event was graced by advisor of School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome as special guest. According to DIPR report, Dr. Yhome congratulated the awardees and said that success does not belong to students alone but to teachers for their effort and hard work in motivating students to be sincere in their studies. He informed that there are 1,939 government schools in Nagaland covering every nook and corner of the state equipped with well qualified teachers for the improvement of education system in the state.
He called upon the people to change their mindset that students attending government schools were from financially weaker section. Dr. Yhome said that the department was giving its best effort to upgrade the education system and for which, government schools have been providing quality-education and assured that the education system will improve in the coming days. He also urged the teachers to build cordial relationship in order to create congenital atmosphere in the schools and informed that Students’ Health Card (SHC) will be launched on September 5 for student’s health care.
Principal Director, Directorate of School Education, Thavaseelan K, in his opening remarks said that the award ceremony program was started in 2023 with the aim to motivate the students in the government schools. The presentation of awards to the successful Students for the HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2024 for the Best Performing Government School were Khushi Gupta from Government High School, Chandmari; Nambagwangle Haining from Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie and Shethilu Medeo from Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero.
In the HSSLC Arts stream, Ilamguale from Government Higher Secondary School, Chumoukedima; Biseli Sangtam from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung and Chujai P from Bautüng Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng.
In commerce stream, Sony Kumari Sharma from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung; Anmol Kumar Jha from Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Kedoni Nakhro from Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma. In Science stream, Sungtimen Longkumer from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung, Julu Pojar from Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Aosenla from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
The awardees were handed cash award and certificates by Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome while Commissioner & Secretary, School Education, Kevileno gave away the certificates to 24 GHS and three GHSS for securing 100% pass percentage in HSSLC and HSSLC examination 2024. The programme was chaired by Assistant Director, Visetonuo Angami. Special numbers were presented by the students of Government High School, Chandmari and Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma.
