India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across North Eastern states.
According to IMD, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days.
IMD said that a cyclonic circulation lies over North East Assam and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. It said that the cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and neighbourhood between 1.5km and 2.1 km above mean sea level persists.
