MOKOKCHUNG, AUG 14 (NPN): Minister for RD & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir on Friday inaugurated the Kumlong Community Hall cum Amenity Centre at Kumlong ward, Mokokchung constructed under the iconic project of 27 Mokokchung Town AC for 2025 26. In his address, the minister called upon citizens of Kumlong ward to remain united and build the ward into an exemplary model for Mokokchung town.
He urged residents to join hands in developmental activities, show strength and unity, and set an example for other wards.
The programme featured a welcome address by Imtitoshi Jamir, chairman Kumlong ward, while the construction committee report was presented by C. Tia Longkumer. A short speech was also delivered by Satemkala, councillor MMC.
Earlier, Metsubo Jamir also graced the ‘Leadership Meet’ organised by NPF Mokokchung Division Youth Wing under the theme “Empowering Youth Voices for a Transformative Future.” Addressing the gathering, Metsubo said it was time for youth to stand on their own feet and not depend on others. He urged them to change their mindset, grow independently and remain strong, noting, “You have strength, wisdom, so don’t be afraid. Go ahead, the future is yours.” He further encouraged youth to dream big, be self reliant and sustain themselves as they prepare to face the future.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by N. Akok Longkumer, president NPF CYW, and Wapangtoshi K. Jamir, president YW 22 Arkakong AC. The programme also witnessed the oath taking and induction of youth leaders initiated by Repameren Yaden, president NPF Mokokchung division. Theme speaker Imnatiba, former MLA and CEC member, dwelt on the significance of the day’s theme.
