Minister of Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir on Monday released a magazine on activities of RD and VDB Fixed Deposit Book at the Rural Development Conference 2023 at the conference hall, Kohima.
The occasion was also graced by commission and secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo.
Addressing the gathering, Metsubo congratulated the department for taking up the publication and for creating awareness on the achievements of the department and to make people aware of the activities taken up in the rural areas.
He also termed it necessary to conduct such quarterly departmental conference and urged upon all PD’s and BDO’s to have a sense of responsibility and duty and make it compulsory to attend the same
Also speaking at the event, Neposo Theluo congratulated the department of RD for coming out with the publications and stressed on the need to properly publicize the achievements of the department’s activities.
Theluo further called upon all PD’s to tie up with their respective DC’s for successful conduct of People’s Plan Campaign and to play active role and set up proper Gram Panchayat Development Facilitation team. He also requested everyone to chalk out plans so that the department can attain localization of Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs).
In her keynote address, director, RD, Azenuo Pienyü while welcoming the participants maintained that the main motive behind the conference was to share each other’s achievements and enhance the performances of each district.
She hoped that the release of VDB Fixed Deposit Book will motivate the district and block officers to a healthy competition and come up with many good and durable assets and bring development to the far-flung rural areas.
Power point presentation on Programme Wise Status Report were delivered by programme officers of Grant-in-Aid, PMAY-G, MGNREGA, XVFC, RGSA and NSRLM. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by deputy director, RD, Shuyhunle Nyenthong.
