Mez & Co storm into AMSSL final with 7-0 win

KOHIMA, AUG 27 (NPN): Mez & Co stormed into the final of the Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League (AMSSL) 2026 with a commanding 7-0 victory over Vanguard Academy in the second semi-final at the IG Stadium, Kohima, on Thursday.
Mez & Co dominated from the outset and opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Kevizolie Kin. Vinato Achumi doubled the lead two minutes into the second half, before Kin scored his second in the 58th minute to make it 3-0.
Nisede Peseyie added the fourth in the 62nd minute, while Petevizo Kezieo extended the advantage three minutes later. Vanguard Academy’s Nendy Kath then scored an own goal in the 67th minute, leaving Mez & Co with a six-goal cushion.
Neihelie Mepfhüo completed the rout in the 69th minute as Mez & Co sealed a 7-0 victory and booked their place in the final.
Representatives of the Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA) attended the match as special guests.
Mez & Co will face league champions Sechü Zubza FC in the final on August 29 at 6 p.m. at the IG Stadium, Kohima.
Prize money:
The winner of the league round will receive Rs 1 lakh along with a trophy and citation, while the runner-up will receive Rs 70,000.
For the Champions Cup, the winner will receive Rs 50,000, along with a trophy and citation, while the runner-up will receive Rs 30,000. The other two semi-finalists will each receive Rs 10,000.
Individual awards include the Golden Ball with Rs 5,000, trophy and citation, while the Golden Gloves, Golden Boot and Best Emerging Player (under-20) awards will each carry Rs 3,000, along with a trophy and citation.
The Fair Play Award carries Rs 8,000, along with a trophy and citation.
