The annual sports week of MGM College commenced on February 20 at SEWAK Ground Midland, Dimapur.
A press release issued by media cell, MGM College informed that indoor games of the college were completed on February 17 and 18 at College and MGM HSS. Accordingly, the official sports programme proceeded with prayer and lightning of the lamp. The event was graced by chief engineer SEWAK, Er. Manav Prasad as the chief guest, while guest of honours were OC Troops, Col. Anurag Rawat and office superintendent, Varghese Mathew.
The chief guest stressed on the importance of sports and honing one’s skills through them. The Principal of MGM College, Fr. Dr. P.S. Varghese in his welcome speech encouraged the students to value the idea of teamwork and team spirit. He also highlighted that “learning is a continuous process, children should learn discipline, punctuality and time management technics from SEWAK officials.”
The programme concluded with a power packed dance, oath taking and national anthem. The week-long sports will have athletic items, football, volley ball, basketball games.
