MGM College students undertake educational tour to Meghalaya

DIMAPUR: Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Department of English, MGM College, organised an educational excursion to Meghalaya from June 3 to 5, 2026 with the objective of promoting experiential learning and exposing students to the region’s natural, cultural and historical heritage.
The team comprised seven students from the Department of Commerce and two faculty members—Vikeduonuo Zumvu (Commerce) and Jemsungba (English).
During the tour, the group visited several prominent sites including the Garden of Caves, Umiam Lake, Elephant Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Ward’s Lake, Nohkalikai Falls, and St. Cathedral, gaining insights into the scenic, cultural and architectural richness of Meghalaya.
The excursion provided students with valuable opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through observation, interaction, teamwork and cultural appreciation. The programme was completed successfully and safely, reflecting MGM College’s commitment to holistic education and meaningful learning experiences that combine academic knowledge with real world exposure.
