MGMHSS and MGM College hold tobacco awareness programmes

As a pre-cursor to “World No Tobacco Day” to be observed on May 31, a mass awareness programme on the ill effects of tobacco was conducted at Mar Gregorious Memorial Higher Secondary School auditorium (MGMHSS) on Wednesday. Both MGMHSS and MGM College marked three days of awareness programmes to commemorate the occasion.
At the three-day programme, principal of Mar Gregorious Memorial, Rev. Fr .Shibu Varghese organized a special power point presentation for the students on this year’s theme, ‘Tobacco and Heart Diseases.’
Apart from the poster competitions scheduled for May 31, awareness programmes, slogan writing competitions, mass oath taking ceremony, drama, and speeches were organized at both the institutions by the St. Thomas Mission Society.
