NEWLY INSTALLED RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ZIPLINE, ROCK CLIMBING
Advisor of horticulture and border affairs Nagaland, Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated “Green Park Adventure” here, at Green Park conference hall, 5th Mile, on Saturday.
The advisor in his speech marked the day as a “significant occasion” which was a new venture taken up to increase the value of Green Park.
The advisor congratulated “Sky Entertainment” which was allocated to manage the facilities on lease and has built facilities so that people could enjoy not only the greenery but other activities installed at the park.
Yanthan mentioned that ‘Sky Entertainment’ has added many facilities so that people can enjoy not only the greenery but also other activities that were built in the park.
Mhathung said it had been almost 30 years since green park was built and viewed that the park was successful in the beginning but after a certain period it was not able to attract many people, mostly due to management problems.
In this, advisor also acknowledged the chief minister of for sanctioning Rs. 2 crore for transforming Green Park into a public recreational centre which was inaugurated in the month of January 2021.
He appealed to the management to take responsibility and make best use of the facilities.
During the inaugural programme, dragon fruit cultivation guide booklet (written in Sumi dialect) was also released.
While interacting with the media, CEO of Sky Entertainment, Yanren Kikon said that the horticulture department has allocated and approved Sky Entertainment to manage Green Park for a lease of 10 years.
Yanren informed that new facilities that have been installed at Green Park were Zipline, rock climbing, net climbing, shooting range, children park, Atv track, boating, cycling and boating for children.
The CEO informed that the park would be open to the public from November 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in winter and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer. He informed that the park would be opened for the whole week except on Mondays.
The entry fee would be Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for children, however, he said that extra charges would be applied for the use of newly install activities and that the price range would be around Rs. 50 to Rs. 300 with payment of royalty to the department every month.
