National Hoho of the Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN on May 31 appointed Michael Yeptho as the general secretary/ato kilonser of the group.
According to its MIP, Michael, son of late Khehokhu Yeptho (founder- chief of Khehokhu and Thahekhu Village), was administered oath of allegiance and office of secrecy by the president, Akato Chophi during the National Hoho held at Hoito village.
MIP said that Michael’s name was proposed by a senior member of the collective leadership Viniho Kiho, and seconded by home kilonser Nokrang Lanu Aier which was followed by members present with show of hands and the official declaration pronounced by speaker of the house, SG Hollo.
Welcomes homecomers: MIP said that the group also warmly welcomed members from NSCN (I-M) comprising of both Naga army and civil wings led by executive members of steering committee, ‘brig.’ Vikato Yeptho and ‘brig.’ Atoshe Chophi.
MIP said NSCN/GPRN was optimistic that, with the appointment of the ato kilonser and also senior members from other factions, the group will definitely strengthen and propel to achieve greater heights in the common political journey of the Nagas.
