DIMAPUR, JUL 24 (NPN): The three-day Midland Youth Sports Meet 2026, held under the theme “Promoting Unity, Fellowship and Sportsmanship through Sports”, came to a close on Friday at the premises of Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
The meet witnessed spirited participation across multiple events. In basketball, Team Mustang emerged as champions while Team Hawks finished as runners-up. The Midland Youth Organization (MYO) official team lifted the men’s penalty shootout title, while Sleek Sparks claimed victory in the women’s penalty shootout. Individual honors went to Kelesizo Sote, who was declared the Most Valuable Player, and Teisovilhou Vimero, who bagged the Best Goalkeeper award.
The closing ceremony was graced by chairman of Midland Council, Menuokholie Kire, as the guest of honour, who presented prizes to the winners.
The programme was chaired by MYO women coordinator, Keviphono Ngukha, with pastor of Nepali Baptist Church, Jack Thapa, offering the invocation.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ako Koso (Madi), president of MYO.
