
Third day programme of 8th state level Mimkut Mini Hornbill Festival was graced by deputy chief minister, Y. Patton on January 17 at Athibung town, Peren.
According to DIPR report, Patton reminded the gathering to not forget the great man late Lengjang Kuki who was one of the members to sign the Simon Commission in 1929. He also extended greetings to the Kuki community on behalf of the government of Nagaland on the occasion.
Patton was accompanied by Kashiho, minister for Soil, Geology & Mining; Kazheto Kinimi, advisor CAWD; Dr. Longri Niken, advisor for Directorate of Treasury & Border Affairs; H Haiying, advisor for Printing & Stationary; Namri Nchang, advisor Water Resources Department.
The function started with Mimkut theme song. Welcome address and presentation was delivered by Alun Hangsing, secretary to government of Nagaland.
Highlights of the programme were presentation of melody by Irine Gangte, seventeen tribes unity dance by KSU Chumukedima, YSU Phaipijang and YSU Dimapur, tribal music display by men & women and Kuki cultural troupes from various villages.
