
Minority department Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) organised “Ekta sammelan” programme on the occasion of 72nd death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Dimapur DCC office on January 30.
A press release from minority department NPCC stated that, speeches were delivered by NPCC minority chairman Rajesh Kr Sethi, DDCC president Tsenthungo Lotha, DDCC secy Ajit Gogoi, and minority member Sallaikur.
Rajesh Kr Sethi said 72 years ago, independent India was shocked at the first terror attack when terrorist Nathuram Godse, associated with RSS assassinated the father of the nation. Terming the Mahatma as the apostle of peace he called on the gathering to pledge to adhere to Gandhi’s ideals of non violence, communal harmony and also to rededicate in pursuing the path of universal peace showed by him.
Sethi further said Bapu today was being remembered the world over as a man of truth and non violence. Ajit Gogoi in his speech mentioned about the implications of CAA and cautioned on the impact of ILP if implemented in Dimapur. Tsenthungo and all the members paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by showering of flower petals on his portrait. Meeting was chaired by DDCC secy. Kutoho Chishi and prayer invocation by N K Naga.
