Unidentified miscreants hurled petrol bombs at an SUV parked inside the Pasteur Beat House premises in the wee hours of Friday, police said. No one was injured in the attack.
A police official said the incident took place around 3.30 am when masked men who came on three motorcycles hurled the petrol bomb at a Bolero requisitioned by Meghalaya Police.
“A Bolero was partially damaged due to quick response by police personnel to extinguish the fire,” Vivek Syiem, the district police chief of East Khasi Hill, said.
Syiem said the police have initiated investigation into the incident and a manhunt is on to nab the perpetrators.
