Miss Kohima 2025 kicks off with orientation & sashing ceremony

The Miss Kohima 2025 journey officially began today with the Orientation and Sashing Ceremony held at the Nagaland Institute of Science and Technology, Lerie on September 19. Sixteen contestants joined organizers and partners in an event that marks the start of weeks of training, advocacy, and competition.
With the theme “Beauty. Health. Beyond,” Show Director and Co-Founder Theja Sekhose emphasized that the crown represents responsibility as much as recognition. “True beauty shines brightest when it is rooted in good health. Real progress uplifts communities and creates a future where wellness and dignity walk hand in hand,” he said.
This year’s edition has partnered with Putuonuo Hospital, a leading healthcare institution. Contestants will undergo a health advocacy session on October 4, equipping them to inspire and educate on wellness issues.
The contest roadmap includes the official photoshoot on September 20, sponsor activities from September 22–27, grooming sessions between October 6–10, and final rehearsals on October 13. The grand finale is scheduled for October 14, 1:00 PM at RCEMPA, where the new Miss Kohima will be crowned.
The Orientation ceremony featured prayers, self-introductions, special performances, and a session on personal branding led by Pewe Tunyi Khamo. Contestants were officially sashed by Pelevinuo Rupreo, symbolizing the start of their journey.
The day concluded with the Talent Round, where participants showcased their creativity and skills. Judged by Kevizenuo Dozo, Sentiein Kichu, and Neitho Khamo, the results for Miss Talent will be announced at the finale.
