The orientation and sashing ceremony of Miss Wokha 2026 was held at Zumba Fitness, Wokha, on September 18, marking the beginning of the pageant journey for seven contestants. Three additional contestants are set to join the competition through wildcard entries.
Event Director of Miss Wokha 2026, Thungbeni Kikon, welcomed the seven contestants and urged them to make the most of their journey. She said the pageant was not merely about showcasing beauty, but also about responsibility, as the eventual winner would serve as a face of the district and represent Wokha at Miss Nagaland.
Urging the contestants to maintain the decorum of the contest and follow its rules, she said their conduct throughout the pageant would also reflect their individual personalities. She encouraged the contestants to support one another, build friendships and make the most of the pageant experience.
Delivering the opening remarks, member of Glamorous Event Management, L Kikon, said the sash held significance beyond being part of the pageant attire, as it represented the identity of each contestant and marked the beginning of their journey towards the Miss Wokha title.
He said the sash symbolised the opportunity for contestants to represent themselves, their community and the values they stand for. He added that the pageant was not only about competing for a title, but also about building confidence, discovering individuality and using the platform to create a positive impact in society. A contract signing session was held following the sashing ceremony.
