Glamours Event Management, in collaboration with the Lotha Eloe Hoho, has announced the return of the Miss Wokha beauty pageant. After an eight-year hiatus, the event is set to take place on November 15, 2025, in Wokha town.
Addressing a press conference at the Lotha Eloe Hoho office on September 10, the organisers highlighted preparations for the event, which is being revived after its last edition in 2017.
Lotha Eloe Hoho President, Thungbeni Ngullie, stated that the event goes beyond beauty, serving as a platform for young women to showcase their talents, build confidence, and express themselves. “We believe such platforms play an important role in today’s world. They encourage participants to use their voices, knowledge, and skills for the betterment of society,” she added.
Further, she added that the pageant promotes cultural appreciation, social awareness, and community unity, making it not just a pageant but also a platform for positive change.
While the district already hosts Miss Tokhu, she clarified that it is a community-based pageant conducted entirely in the Lotha language for the local community. She assured that there would be no overlap or conflict between the two events, as they are completely different in nature.
Event Director Thungbeni Kikon stated that the winner of Miss Wokha will receive a direct entry to the Miss Nagaland pageant. The organising team will also provide opportunities for the winner to participate in various events. She informed that auditions will be held on September 20 at Zumba Fitness Centre, Tsumang (opposite DC Office, Wokha) and at Lotha Hoho Ki, Kohima, starting from 10 a.m. onwards. She also welcomed sponsorships for the event.
The eligibility criteria requires contestants to be indigenous Lotha women, unmarried and between 18 and 25 years of age, with a minimum height of 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm). Interested candidates may attend the auditions directly or can contact 7005764490 for Wokha and 9787551962 / 8787551962 for Kohima.
