
A man, who had gone missing on Saturday morning, was finally found after a massive search carried out by more than 400 youth from six villages and one colony here on Monday night. After the youth identified as one KeviMetha, from Chiechama village and currently residing at Merhülietsa colony, did not appear for lunch at the usual time, his family members sounded the alarm.
Kevi, is in his mid-thirties, began to lead a reclusive lifestyle after his mother’s demise in 2002 and became partially deranged.
He was residing with his elder brother and except for his immediate family, he avoided contact with others and usually spent most of his time inside the room.
After news of his disappearance spread, the youth especially from his colony and village conducted searches at various places where people reported of his sighting.
As search slowly gained momentum, the news spread to the nearby villages by Monday morning. The youth from his native village residing in Kohima under the group ChiechamaRamiaDzeviKrotho along with youth from Jotsoma, Peducha, Meriema, Tsiesema and Zhadima and Merhülietsa colony along with Kohima police conducted massive search.
The search area, which started from Kohima village area, spread to nearby Jotsoma area Liezuocha and then diverted towards Chümoukedima side.
He was finally found at an area between Viphoma and Zhadima after one of the search parties received news of people sighting him in that area.
Kevi’s elder brother MezhülhoutuoMetha has expressed gratitude to everyone who helped in tracing his missing brother.
Earlier in the day, Advisor Urban and Municipal Affairs, Dr Nicky Kire, visited the missing person’s family and extended his support towards the search operation.
