Missing persons killed

Bodies of two persons who went missing since Wednesday last from Kohima were recovered on Sunday, alongside National Highway 151, some 17 km from the state capital towards Phek. According to Police, the dead bodies of Avito Sumi of Khewoto village under Aghunato Area, an employee of the Executive Engineer Roads & Bridges, Zunheboto and Aloto Sangtam of Sitimi village, a driver which were recovered at around 11 am were in a decomposed stage and identified by an elder brother of one of the victims through dresses. Police said that the victims bore one shot each on head and suspected it to be shot by a 9 mm pistol. Police informed that the magistrates and doctors also rushed to the spot and conducted a post mortem and after all formalities the bodies were handed over to the relatives of the deceased at around 4.30 pm. Meanwhile, a press release issued by Kawoshe Achumi, chairman Aghunato Area Union, Kohima said, “they (Avito and Aloto) were last seen at Mohonkhola, Kohima at about 7:00 pm on July 9 repairing Maruti car bearing No.NL-02-3196 (Red Colour)”.
