Seven-day immunization drive of 2nd Round of ‘Mission Indradhanush’ concluded on May 13 at Kiphire. The drive involved the nurses from sub-centres, ASHAs, district NHM staffs and officials from UNICEF and RRC-NE to monitor the performance, progress of work and health units.
The coverage was increased from the previous round immunizing 0-2 years and pregnant mothers in 21 villages of Kiphire district. On the visit, RMNCHA + coordinator, UNICEF Kingson Shimray and Community Process Consultant, RRC-NE Tajsh K. Monsang said MI 2nd round coverage was as per the expected lines and extended appreciation to DIO, staff from ASHAs, VHSNC members in conducting Mission Indradhanush. One of the nurses, Botoli said, “Sometimes they face challenges to reach out to every household, especially in the villages to get their child vaccinated, but with the help of ASHAs they were doing their best to mobilize the community and immunize every child and pregnant mother”. The performance would be reviewed and assessed in the next DTF meeting before the 3rd round begins.
