Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima, celebrated its 10th foundation day and 8thgraduation Day on March 1.
In a press release, MITE vice principal, HL Gangte stated that Nagaland University, Meriema campus head, department of teacher education, Dr. Pradipta Kumar Pattnaik graced the occasion as the special guest.
In his speech Dr. Pattnaik exhorted the student-teachers to become true professionals suiting the contemporary society that needs constructivist approach to education rather than behaviourist approach.
Delivering the annual report of the college, managing director Pelee Hekha highlighted MITE’s achievement on being the state topper in producing the highest pass percentage from the 2018-20 B. Ed batch with seven university top rank-holders and various distinction holders. He briefed on the significance of the foundation day reminiscing the later founder Dr. Hekha Mao whose vision became true.
Earlier during the convocation ceremony, the special guest awarded degree certificates to the student-teachers. Later, vote of thanks was delivered by Rebecca and benediction was proposed by Chulo-u Sekhamo.
