Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) Saturday celebrated its 12th foundation-cum-cultural day and observed “National Science Day” with consultant at the department of radiology, Zion Hospital, Dimapur, teaching consultant at CIHSR Dimapur and governing body member, MITE, Kohima, Dr. Nishini Hekha as the special guest.
A press release by MITE stated that Dr. Nishini in his speech shared his experience and advised student-teachers to be careful to choose a specialization.
He underscored the importance of maintaining good relationships, values, and passion in life. He also expressed that hard work, commitment, and efforts were important in student life, and advised the student-teachers to think about their future aspirations and strive for excellence.
At the programme, the significance of foundation day was shared by MITE principal, Dr. Kate Dandesh Kumar, who mentioned that the founder late Dr. S Hekha Mao, had a vision of imparting such high-quality education to student teachers.
Without late Dr. Mao’s vision, mission, motto, and values, Dr. Kumar said MITE would not have become what it was today. He also deliberated on the need of organizing cultural day and “National Science Day” in educational institutions.
The student-teachers performed a cultural show, folk dance, documentary display, glimpse of science, essence of cultural day, and “National Science Day.”
