Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima organized outreach activity and “Nai Talim” Programme on the topic “Handicraft for Life” on April 22 at Khonoma village.
A press release by principal Dr. Kate Dandesh Kumar, informed that Dr. Velankanni Alex, was the teacher in charge for the outreach activity.
As part of the programme, the students and teachers visited St. John Bosco School, Khonoma to enable the student-teachers develop awareness on the “Learning through Engagement and Handicraft for Life”. The team also also collected data from the community on unemployment, women empowerment, and other areas with the help from Khonoma Village Council and Student Union. Later, they visited the Handloom industry, Black Smith industry, and craft industry, where students and teachers interacted with the skilled workers and enquired about the process.
