Mizoram, Arunachal foundation day celebrated at Raj Bhavan

Foundation day of Mizoram & Arunachal Pradesh states was celebrated at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall Raj Bhavan Kohima with the governor La Ganesan as the special guest on Tuesday. According to PRO Raj Bhavan, the programme organised under the banner of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” was attended by Nagaland Mizo Community and citizens from Arunachal Pradesh residing in Kohima.


Speaking on the occasion, Ganesan said that the central idea of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat was to recognize, respect, and revel in the rich tapestry of cultures that adorn the country. He mentioned that Mizoram was renowned for its vibrant culture and melodies that resonate with the ethos of peace and tranquillity, while he described Arunachal Pradesh, “Land of the Rising sun”, with its diverse heritage as a testament to the serene beauty of nature and human spirit.


The Governor reminded them that regardless of the geographical boundaries, “we are bound by the spirit of India”. He also congratulated the people of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh on the momentous day and informed everyone that the door of Raj Bhavan Kohima will be always open to every citizen from every state and Union Territories residing in Nagaland.


Retired IAS and former chief secretary of Nagaland, Lalthara, and who is also the president of the Nagaland Mizo Welfare Association thanked the Governor for his generosity and hospitality in hosting the programme in honour of the two states. He also highlighted the history of the Mizos and their state.


During the programme, video presentation along with short greeting messages from the Governors of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh were screened. Cultural items were also presented during the programme.
Later, the Governor also felicitated the participants.
