The fourth edition of the NECDC Inter State Friendship Cup Men’s U19 continued to deliver thrilling cricketing action on Tuesday as Mizoram maintained their winning momentum with a clinical victory over Arunachal Pradesh, while Manipur produced a dominant all-round performance to overwhelm Meghalaya by a massive margin.
In match 1 between Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram, Mizoram showcased their consistency with a comfortable six-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima. Opting to bat first, Arunachal managed 132 runs in 38.4 overs. Nabam Nathan (43 off 80) and Nabam Reekam (38 off 62) provided resistance, but the rest of the batting faltered against Mizoram’s disciplined attack.
Mizoram’s H. Lalrinfela was the star, claiming 5/23 in a devastating spell, who received the Player of the Match award, while VL Chhuankima chipped in with 3/24. Chasing 133, Mizoram reached the target in just 24.2 overs. Johan Lalhriatpuia top-scored with 39 off 41 balls, and Lalramluahpuia Zote remained unbeaten on 28 to guide the team home.
In match 2 between Manipur and Meghalaya at Sovima Cricket Ground, Manipur delivered one of the most commanding performances of the tournament, thrashing Meghalaya by 144 runs.
Batting first, Manipur piled up 222/6 in 26 overs. Max Warokpam Meitei played a blistering knock of 76 off 53 balls, while Naeesh added a fluent 53 off 45.
In reply, Meghalaya collapsed to 78 all out in 22.3 overs. Angkit Tamang (26 off 47) was the lone fighter as Manipur’s bowlers ran riot.
Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba (4/11) and Saikhom Kaiku Meetei (4/7) dismantled the batting order with precision.

Nagaland and Mizoram register convincing wins
On Monday, the tournament witnessed two rain-curtailed league encounters at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima and Sovima Cricket Ground, Dimapur, with Nagaland and Mizoram emerging victorious through composed all-round performances.
In match 1 between Nagaland and Manipur, Nagaland clinched a solid 5-wicket win over Manipur in a rain-reduced clash, chasing down a revised target of 159 under the VJD method.
Contributions from MD Danish Khan (36) and Naeesh (35) helped Manipur post a competitive total. Nagaland’s disciplined bowling attack, led by Yashimeren Jamir (3/18) and Amongti Lkr (3/16), ensured regular breakthroughs.
Samir Ali anchored the chase with a fluent 50 off 44 balls, while Tachuye added a steady 35. Despite Naeesh (3/54) and Danish Khan (2/25) attempting to keep Manipur in contention, Nagaland maintained control.
Player of the Match was awarded to Yashimeren Jamir (Nagaland).
In match 2 between Sikkim and Mizoram, Mizoram registered a comfortable 7-wicket victory over Sikkim in another rain-affected encounter, chasing a revised target of 131 with ease. Parvin Kuikel top-scored with 45 off 54 balls, but Mizoram’s bowlers dominated. Stephen Lalawmpuia (3/8) and Henry Lallawmzuala (3/27) spearheaded the attack.
Immanuel Lalpekhlua (44) and Johan Lalhriatpuia (35) guided Mizoram’s chase with composed batting. Sikkim’s bowlers picked up wickets but failed to apply sustained pressure.
Player of the Match was awarded to Stephen Lalawmpuia (Mizoram).
Both matches highlighted strong adaptability to rain interruptions, with Nagaland and Mizoram showcasing balanced performances in batting and bowling.
