Mkg witness peace in border areas in 2015: DC

Deputy commissioner and vice chairman, DPDB Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel said Mokokchung district witnessed “tremendous” improvement in law and order situation in border areas with neighboring Assam in 2015.
He said peace was achieved through active cooperation of the people in the borders on both sides and frequent coordination meetings between Mokokchung and Sivasagar and Jorhat districts administration.
According to DIPR reports, DC said this during the monthly meeting of DPDB Mokokchung on January 16.
He also acknowledged the role played by Border Peace coordination Committee (Assam-Nagaland) in maintaining peace in the border since its inception.
Patel also highlighted some of the important events that had been taken up in the district.
The vice chairman also informed the members about National De-worming Day to be observed on February 10, 2016 in the district where 1-19 years children will be provided de-worming medicine in a single day event in all schools and angangwadi centers.
To this, he sought active participation from district welfare office and district education office along with Health and Family Welfare department to make the programme successful.
At the meeting, celebration on the upcoming Republic Day in the district was discussed.
The house also forwarded applications along with necessary documents for registration of Fusion Sporting Club Chuchuyimlang and Confederation of Entrepreneur and skill Development Dilong Ward, Mokokchung.
