MMC conducts life and livelihood skills training

DIMAPUR

Department of Education, Mount Mary College (MMC), in collaboration with Life Ministry Learning Centre, organized a one-day training programme on the theme “Skills for Life & Livelihood: Bridging Education with Real-World Practice for Viksit Bharat.”
According to a press release issued by Mount Mary College, Programme Director of Life Ministry Learning Centre, Alemla Samuel, shared that the Centre, as an NGO for women and youth, is committed to empowering individuals through skill-based and livelihood-oriented education.
She also informed that the Centre has signed MoUs with various colleges to promote experiential learning and youth development.
Director of the Centre, Samuel Therieh, in his address, emphasized the dignity of labour and encouraged participants to live purposefully and work diligently.
Quoting, “Do not eat to live, but eat to work; if one does not like to work, one should not eat. Work at least four hours for each meal,” he urged students to embrace a work ethic rooted in responsibility and self-reliance.
The training featured three practical modules—Mushroom Cultivation, Vermicomposting, and Soap Making—designed to equip participants with sustainable skills and self-employment opportunities.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Head of Department of Education, Mount Mary College, Ngaichin Singson, who expressed appreciation to Life Ministry Learning Centre and the trainers for their valuable contribution.
